Hollowdusk ("the game", "we", "us") is operated by JACE Holdings, Inc. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these terms.

1. The game

Hollowdusk is free to play and runs in your web browser. It is currently in closed beta: features change often, worlds may be reset, and the service may be interrupted. The game is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

2. Your account

You need an account to play. New accounts are approved individually during the beta.
Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.

3. Playing fairly

Don't attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service; don't access other players' worlds or data without permission; don't harass other players; and don't use the game to break the law.

4. Ideas and submissions

The Ideas Board lets players propose features and vote on them. When you submit an idea (text, suggestions, feedback or anything else you send us):

You grant JACE Holdings, Inc. a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, copy, modify, adapt, publish and build on your submission, in any form, without restriction.
No payment, credit or other compensation is owed for any submission, whether or not it is used.
We may already be working on similar ideas, or receive them from others. A submission creates no obligation, confidentiality or claim to any part of the game.
You confirm your submission is your own and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
Votes are advisory. They help us set priorities; we decide what is built, when, and how.
We moderate submissions and may decline, edit or remove any of them.

5. Ownership

The game, including its code, art, music, text and design, belongs to JACE Holdings, Inc. Worlds you build are yours to enjoy in the game; this doesn't transfer ownership of the game's content or code to you.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost worlds, progress or data. Because the game is free, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is nothing.

7. Emails we send you

Service emails. We may email you about your account and the service, for example beta access, security, or changes to these terms. These aren't marketing and can't be switched off while you have an account.
News and updates (marketing) are sent only if you opt in, either when you request a key or later from the ☰ menu in the game. You can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every such email, from the ☰ menu, or by contacting us. Opting out never affects your access to the game.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the game grows. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the game or on this page. Continuing to play means you accept the updated terms.
